National President of All India Jewelers and Goldsmiths Federation, Pankaj Arora said that today a business of gold, silver and other items worth about Rs 30 thousand crore has been done across the country. While gold goods worth about Rs 27 thousand crores were sold today, the turnover of silver has also been worth about Rs 3 thousand crores.

Last year, this business on Dhanteras was approximately Rs 25 thousand crores. Last year the price of gold was Rs 52000 per 10 grams whereas that time it was Rs 62000 per 10 grams. On the other hand, silver was sold at Rs 58,000 last Diwali and now its price has reached Rs 72,000 per kg.

41 tons of gold and 400 tons of silver were sold

According to an estimate, today on Dhanteras, about 41 tonnes of gold and about 400 tonnes of silver jewelery and coins have been sold in the country. There are about 4 lakh small and big jewelers in the country, out of which 1 lakh 85 thousand are registered jewelers with the Bureau of Indian Standards and about 2 lakh 25 are small jewelers in those areas where the government has not yet implemented BIS. Every year about 800 tonnes of gold and about 4 thousand tonnes of silver are imported from abroad.

CAT National President BC Bhartia and National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said that today on the day of Dhanteras, idols or pictures of Shri Ganesh ji, Shri Lakshmi ji, Shri Kuber ji are being bought, whereas on this day vehicles, gold and silver jewellery, Buying utensils, kitchen appliances, electronics items along with brooms is also considered auspicious. Apart from this, it is considered auspicious to buy earthen lamps, bandanwar, home and office decoration items, furnishing fabric, Diwali puja material to light the lamp during Diwali.

Praveen Khandelwal told that in Delhi, while big traders are expected in the wholesale markets Chandni Chowk, Dariba Kalan, Maliwada, Sadar Bazaar, Naya Bazaar, the retail markets are Kamla Nagar, Ashok Vihar, Model Town, Shalimar Bagh, Pitampura, Rohini, Rajouri Garden. , Dwarka, Janakpuri, South Extension, Khan Market, Malviya Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, Greater Kailash, Green Park, Yusuf Sarai, Vasant Kunj, Munirka, Lajpat Nagar, Kalkaji, Preet Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, Jagatpuri, Shahdara and Laxmi Nagar. Goods were sold exclusively in retail markets.
