Gold and silver worth Rs 30,000 crore sold
National President of All India Jewelers and Goldsmiths Federation, Pankaj Arora said that on Dhanteras, there was a business of about Rs 30,000 crore of gold, silver and other precious items. The sales figure of gold and gold jewelery was Rs 27,000 crore. Silver or its articles worth around Rs 3,000 crore have been sold. Last year in 2022, there was a Dhanteras gold and silver business worth Rs 25,000 crore.
In 2022, the price of gold was Rs 52000 per 10 grams, whereas this time it is available at Rs 62000 per 10 grams. According to an estimate, about 41 tonnes of gold and about 400 tonnes of silver jewelery and coins were sold in the country on Dhanteras.
